💼 BEYOND THE BRIEFCASE 💼

As we step into spring, it’s a great time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished this year. Let’s look ahead to what’s blooming next. We’re excited to share this month’s updates, highlights, and wins with you.

🌷 Spring Has Sprung! A Playful Peek at Passover & Easter

Spring is officially here and along with blooming flowers, brighter mornings, and a sudden urge to clean everything, comes a season filled with meaningful celebrations.

This month, many observe Passover and Easter, two holidays rich in tradition, symbolism, and surprisingly fun facts. Let’s take a cheerful stroll through both!

🕊️ Passover: A Celebration with a Story (and Snacks!)

Passover, also known as Pesach, centers on themes of freedom, resilience, and fresh beginnings, very on brand for spring.

The holiday is celebrated with a Seder, a special meal that follows a set order (fun fact: Seder literally means “order”) and brings history to life through food and storytelling.
Matzah, the famous flat bread of Passover, represents simplicity and reminds us that life moves fast, with no time for bread to rise!
An extra cup of wine is poured for Elijah, symbolizing hope and the future.
And for kids (and competitive adults), there’s the hunt for the afikoman, turning tradition into a festive game.

🐣 Easter: Eggs, Bunnies, and New Beginnings

Easter is often associated with renewal, joy, and let’s be honest, a lot of candy.

Eggs have symbolized new life for centuries, long before chocolate eggs filled store shelves.
The Easter Bunny hopped into U.S. traditions via German folklore and never looked back.
Pastels, egg decorating, and festive meals make Easter one of spring’s most colorful celebrations.
Fun fact: Easter candy season is second only to Halloween—proof that spring has a serious sweet tooth.

🌸 Different Traditions, Shared Spring Spirit

While Passover and Easter have different origins and customs, they share common themes of renewal, reflection, hope, and fresh starts—a perfect match for the season we’re stepping into.

Whether you’re celebrating one, both, or simply enjoying longer days and sunnier moods, spring is a great reminder that fresh beginnings are always worth celebrating.

Wishing everyone a joyful season filled with positivity, connection, and maybe just a little extra chocolate. 🌼🐰🍫

Let’s start Spring with some good news and tell you about some of the new and returning faces at Century Law Firm.

🎞️  Top Movies of 2025  🎞️

2025 delivered a remarkable lineup of films across genres, showcasing bold storytelling and unforgettable performances. From gripping dramas and inventive thrillers to animated favorites and fresh takes on classic tales, each movie offered something unique to audiences. As awards season is now over, these standout releases not only captivated viewers but also ignited conversations about artistry and excellence in cinema. Here are my favorite movies from the past year, along with reflections on their impact and recognition.

SINNERS
Sinners is a gripping drama directed by Ryan Coogler that delves into themes of redemption and morality through riveting storytelling and standout performances. Michael B. Jordan leads the cast with a powerful portrayal, capturing the emotional intensity of a man haunted by his past. The film’s atmospheric cinematography and nuanced script keep viewers engaged from beginning to end, offering both suspense and introspection. “Sinners” is a thought-provoking cinematic experience that deserves recognition as one of the year’s best. Oscars won: Best Actor in a leading Role: Michael B. Jordan, Best Original Screenplay: Ryan Coogler
WEAPONS
The second movie by Zach Cregger (Barbarian), follows the sudden disappearance of 17 children from the same class who mysteriously vanish on the same night. It’s filled with a variety of eclectic characters and filmed from several different points of view. It’s an original horror thriller with suspense, dark humor, strong performances, and distinctive storytelling. Oscar won: Best Actress in a supporting Role: Amy Madigan.
One Battle After Another
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson(Boogie Nights and There will be Blood), “One Battle after Another” is a masterfully crafted drama that explores the complexities of conflict and the human spirit. The film features powerful performances, intricate storytelling, and visually compelling scenes that draw viewers into its emotional core. Anderson’s direction brings depth and nuance to every character, making each moment resonate long after the credits roll. This is a standout film of the year, both haunting and unforgettable.
Oscars Won: Best Actor in a supporting role: Sean Pean, Best Director: PT Anderson, Best adapted Screenplay: PT Anderson, Best Film.
Zootopia 2
I absolutely loved the original “Zootopia,” and this sequel did not disappoint. The movie offers a clever, unpredictable storyline and features a host of memorable cameos that keep things fresh and exciting. The animation is top-notch, with vibrant visuals and sharp humor that appeal to both kids and adults. “Zootopia 2” stands out as one of the year’s best and should have won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
Frankenstein
Last year’s adaptation of “Frankenstein” delivers a fresh and captivating take on the classic tale, blending gothic atmosphere with modern cinematic flair. The film stands out with its striking visuals and a nuanced performance by the lead actor, who brings unexpected depth and vulnerability to the iconic monster. Director Guillermo Del Toro expertly blends suspense and emotion, connecting with modern audiences while respecting the original work. Overall, “Frankenstein” is a haunting and thought-provoking film that lingers long after the credits roll.
Avatar: Fire And Ash
AV3 may not seem to fit here, but I enjoyed it. The story is familiar, and the dialogue isn’t strong, yet the movie is entertaining—especially on the big screen—and the visual effects are outstanding. Remember, the director of these films is also responsible for two of the most acclaimed action sequels ever made—T2: Judgment Day and Aliens.
The Secret Agent

This remains a prominent selection on my list, with Wagner Moura delivering a performance that secured him the nomination for the Best Actor Oscar…
Project Hail Mary

Based on the best-selling novel by Andy Weir, this story centers on a schoolteacher assigned the critical mission of saving Earth…
The Odyssey

Christopher Nolan’s film “The Odyssey” adapts Homer’s Greek epic, depicting Odysseus’s journey home after the Trojan War…
Masters of the Universe

The highly anticipated release of “Masters of the Universe” brings the legendary battle between He-Man and Skeletor to the big screen…
Avengers: Doomsday

“Avengers: Doomsday” reunites Marvel’s iconic superhero team for their most catastrophic challenge yet…

In May, Nathaly helped with mock calls and served as a training buddy. During June, she received MVP recognition at the town hall, took on the AI Lead responsibilities while Kylie was on PTO, and supported training efforts through buddying and mock calls. In July, she earned first place for Call of the Month and participated as a Spirit Week winner within our department. In August, Nathaly was named Employee of the Month, again served as a training buddy, and handled AI Lead duties during Kylie’s PTO. In September, she secured second place in the QA Contest.
